City of ember

At the start of the term we started reading a book called the city of ember and we read it through the term and we finished it on the 18/9/13 and we watch the movie when we finished the book , i prefer the book for more intense action because  the movie takes to long to get into the real intense action, and is so predictable. The book changes it so you could think of something and that won't happen.

Speeches

On Wednesday the 28th of august we had learning centre speeches and there was a variety of topics like why i hate cockroaches and why you should wear a helmet while riding a bike. But i liked Finns speech speech which was why i hate cockroaches it was really funny and factual speech. I also like a girls speech called Anais and her speech was on fast food and it was really intense speech.

Devon intermediate exchange

On the 2nd of September to the 4th of September Devon intermediate came up too Rotorua, from new Plymouth and Mokoia intermediate and devon competed for a cup (Richard Thompson cup) and we competed in boys soccer, girls soccer, yr 8 a netball, yr 8 b netball, basketball, yr 7 a netball and rugby and Mokoia won all of the sports but rugby. I am the boys soccer captain and we had a tight game with the score at 1-1 at half time and then we came back on and we dominated then and scored 1 more goal to make it 2-1 and we held off until the final whistle went and we won for the first time in history of mokoia intermediate.

Storm breaker review

Storm breaker

This term our class read a book called the storm breaker and when we finished the book we watch the movie to see the similarities and differences from the book to the movie.

The book is about a boy who is 14 and trying to find out information about who killed his uncle.
Ian rider, (the uncle) is a spy who works for M16 but he was killed by a man called yassen gregorovich. Alex rider is a teenage boy still in school going to do a dangerous mission but first he has to go to boot camp and do obstacles. But when he gets there he has to do dangerous things one of them is swimming with a big and deadly jellyfish.

Characters
Ian rider: A spy working for M16
Alex rider: A teenage boy on a mission
Yassen gregorovich: the world’s deadliest assassin
Darrius sayle: The person who makes the storm-breaker

My highlights in the book were when Alex rid the quad bike through the bad people and killed them all.
My highlight in the movie was when he defeated all the people in the scrap metal yard and walked off like nothing happen.

I prefer the book for someone who likes reading a lot and I prefer the movie to people who like action packed scenes.

Alex rider: A 14 year old boy that goes on a mission for M16 to find out information about who killed his uncle and he also had to kill or stop people getting with his black belt karate moves, but he does seem the same as in the book.

Jack starbright: Jack may sound like a male name but in the movie she is Alex’s house keeper but she supports Alex the hole way through the mission then right at the end she helps him go stop Darrius sayle ignite the storm breaker.

The storm breaker book and the movie are both cool but I think the movie has more detail so watch the movie.

Minecraft report

Minecraft it is a generated world for kids and adults to learn how to build creativity and learn survive in the wilderness against zombies, skeletons, creepers and more.
It’s a fun game
You can also build stuff to perfect scale and you can also build awesome stuff.

I think that Minecraft should be in all schools over the world for kids that want to be a successful builder.

Camp senses poem

In front of me I see more colourful kayaks splashing water in to other people’s kayaks.

In the distance I see waves smashing in to the mossy rocks.

Above me I see the clouds drifting along the blue shiny sky.

Under me I see the water moving around and sparkling to me.

I can hear people yelling and the paddles sliding into the water.

In the distance I hear the waves curling in to another’s kayaks

I can feel the smooth tape sliding along my palm

I can taste cold wind as it freezes my throat

I feel the blue tape as it slides in and out of my numb hands.
